Vijayanagara: The score of people has become a prey to drink water contaminated in a village in the Vijayanagara district.
Six people allegedly died and more than 150 people had been hospitalized last month.
Now, there are four active cases including those who have been treated at Hubballi Kims and each at SS Hospital, Davanagere and Gadag District Hospital.
They are all stable.
Gastroenteritis broke out in the village of Makabibi in Huvina Hadagali Taluk recently.
This village has around 2,000 people from 450 families.
According to a preliminary investigation by Ballari District Health Officers, patients suffer from gastroenteritis, anxiety, vomiting and diarrhea after drinking contaminated water.
According to sources, the water supply pipeline Jeevan Mission has begun in the village, but is stopped for several technical problems.
