Continue Subsidies for Sitamarhi Farmers: Bihar CM

Patna: Cm Nith Kumar on Saturday said transportation subsidies given to the Sitamarhi district farmers for carrying their cane to other sugar factories rather than closed Riga Mill will continue for the marketing year 2021-22 today (October-September).

CM also said the price of fair and remunerative (FRP) from sugar cane was increased several times in previous years.
The government also provides sugar cane price grants.
The sugar cane industry is promoted to increase production in the state, he said.
“About four months back, the Country Cabinet approved a proposal to reduce the Zonal Development Council commission from 1.80% to 0.20% as part of the economic package for sugar factories and paid by the sugar factory on the purchase of sugar cane during the sugar cane crushing 2021-22 , “said the official.
The minister said of a total of 11 sugar factories in Bihar, both in Riga and Sasmusa were closed.
Previously, the Secretary of the Department, N Sarvana Kumar, made a detailed presentation before CM on the works carried out by the department.
