Controlled aggression works for us in the Leeds test: Chris Silverwood

LONDON: British head coach Chris Silverwood on Sunday said “controlled aggression” greatly contributed to their average victory against India in the third test, days after players let their emotions better than them.
Indian and English players were involved in many verbal battles during the second test won by visitors on the first day with brilliant bowling performance.
However, the environment in the field seems to have been a little quiet in Leeds with England bouncing back with a style to win the game of an innings and 76 run.
“Joe and I reflect on God’s test and think about what we can learn and how we can get better.
And I think there is controlled aggression around what they do (in headingley),” Silverwood said during virtual media interactions.
“The way they reach hard length, the way they put the Indian tail under pressure and force them to make decisions all the time.
I think you can be aggressive in a very controlled way and I think they are right.” Asked whether the decline was awesome India if they were put under pressure like them in Leeds, the coach’s head said: The key is to get above them because we know they are a very good team.
Once they are above, it’s hard to stop them.
“” We put them on the legs and we keep pressing, so you know, it shows what we can do.
People execute gameplan very well.
This shows once you put people on the back side, the pressure gets and we can enter it.
“Root also became the most successful captain in England with the team won the 27th test under his leadership, surpassed 26 Michael Vaughan.
He might not be a great captain yet but Silverwood said he would get there in the end.” Seeing him to be the most successful England captain.
extraordinary.
That is something I look forward to for a while.
He was in a good place now and I really enjoyed watching him.
“I think he is a good test captain.
He grows and studied all the time.
We saw that last week.
There is potential there for him to become one of the great England captains.
If we win in Australia, we can do this conversation again.
“Root has made some tactical errors in God swallowing the cost of the match.
“He pondered the God’s test and some decisions he made.
He learned as he walked and it was a great characteristic for a captain to have it: to reflect back honestly and make this game difference.” Silverwood said.
The coach said it was possible that in the form of Pacer James Anderson and Ollie Robinson could rest for the Foruth exam, starting September 2, as part of the workload management with both of them playing three on the trot.
“What I don’t want to do is destroy them,” said Silverwood referring to Anderson and Robinson.
“We have a lot of cricket in front of us.
The test comes thick and fast now.
They are back to back.
It’s difficult.
These people give everything, every day when we leave the field.” We have to make sure we keep them, but I won’t make any decisions or assesses now until we get to London.
