Thane: Housing Minister Maharashtra Jitendra Awhad on Wednesday filed a criminal case against the KaliCharaj religious leader Maharaj for the “controversial” comment on Mahatma Gandhi.
Awhad, personally walked to the Naupada police station along with a number of NCP Thane City activists and registered complaints.
Awhad said, “This complaint is related to the harsh words used in Mahatma Gandhi, support for terrorism and glorifying Gagse Nathuram.
I can’t even spell the words he used for Gandhi.
He has repeatedly used provocative sayings that are unpleasant , “Awhad added.
But Awhad, avoided questions about Sanatan Dharam and also the current feud between MVA and Governor and said that he had come “here” to register complaints against KaliCharan and no more.
A police officer at the Naupada police station confirmed that violations under various under the Indian criminal code had been submitted.
