HYDERABAD: Former MP V Hanumanth Rao on Wednesday shot off a letter to AICC in charge of Telangana Manickam Tagore to immediately convene a meeting to review the reasons for the party losing elections, one after the other, since the 2018 Assembly polls.
“It is essential to conduct a review meeting to find out the factors for losing elections and accordingly prepare strategies to regain the lost ground in Telangana.
On the other hand, the BJP is trying to gain ground at the cost of the Congress party,” he stated in his letter.
Even the TRS is moving fast with its strategies to fill up the gaps.
After Eatala Rajender announced his resignation to the TRS party following his ouster from the state cabinet, TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has moved swiftly to woo TDP state president L Ramana into the ruling party fold.
“Ramana is a BC leader and would help the TRS in countering Eatala’s BC card politics.
Whereas there was no attempt from the Congress to consolidate its BC vote bank.
Of the total 119 Assembly constituencies, the Congress has no In-charges in several segments,” Hanumanth Rao said.
Referring to the talk of a new TPCC committee going to be constituted soon with a new leader to lead the party in Telangana, the Congress veteran said such a crucial exercise would not bear desired results without convening a review meeting to discuss reasons for failures and plan strategies not to repeat them.
Hanumanth Ra urged Manickam Tagore to convene a review meeting and elicit the opinion and suggestions of seniors in the party on the constitution of a new TPCC committee.
