Mumbai: Senior Inspector of the Jogeshwari Police Station, Mahendra Nerlekar, has been transferred to the Western control room on Thursday as a punishment to take part in cutting historical-sheeter birthday cakes in Jogeshwari (East).

Mumbai Police spokesman DCP S Chaitanya said the department’s investigation began against Nerlekar.
Senior Inspector has now been attached to the control room.
