COP held to take RS 30,000 bribes in Bharatpur

Jaipur: A Bharatpur Unit Team from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Sunday captured the police sub-inspector posted in Magora in Mathura for allegedly accepting bribes of Rs 30,000.
The police accused of demanding bribes from the complainant for removing their names in a case that lodged in Mathura.
He was arrested when he came to Bharatpur to take bribes from complaints.
ACB DGP BL Soni said the Bharatpur unit from the agency received a complaint where the complainant said the defendant Prem Lal Singh demanded Rs 1 lakh from him as a substitute for the Police Magora.
“After complaints, our team verified where the defendant had taken Rs 10,000 in advance and remained that he would take the remaining amount in three installments of RS 30,000,” Soni added.
After verifying complaints, the ACB team put a trap where the defendant was arrested for accepting bribes of Rs 30,000.
“He is an Etawa native and if we needed a team we will also visit his home and office,” said a senior officer ACB, Bharatpur.
The ACB source said the defendant’s sub-inspector waste his weight and tried to intimidate Detective ACB.
“ACB has registered a case under the prevention of corruption against the defendant.
He will be produced in court on Monday,” the officer added.
