Coimbatore: A police inspector from the Rathinapuri police station on Tuesday suffered a hairline fracture after the defendant pushed the officer and tried to escape from him.
Inspector Ramesh Kannan went to Hudco Colony on Monday to conduct an investigation with 21-year-old Surya Prakash, Sampath Street in Rathinapuri.
Surya Prakash was accused of cases of attack.
“When the officer faced with Surya with his question, the defendant pushed Ramesh and tried to escape from the place.
However, the driver of the Sugantharajan officer pursued Surya and arrested him,” said a police officer.
Inspector suffered a hairline fracture in his left hand and left foot.
He was taken to a private hospital for treatment.
Based on complaints of Sugantharajan, Police Rathinapuri registered a case against Surya Prakash below, 353 (violence or criminal to prevent public servants from disposal of their duties) and 506 (II) (criminal intimidation) from the Criminal Procedure.
The person arrested was produced in front of the Judge Judicial Court and returned in judicial detention.
The officer also said that the defendant tried to build himself as a noisy at Rathinapuri.
