Nagpur: Police from the Tehsil Police Station were tested by Covid positive twice and also the first patient at the city police last year to be found without taking a vaccine dose.
COP, which is known for its superlative detection skills, zero in the ongoing ‘operation’ which was launched by the City Police Chief Amitesh Kumar.
The police chief, worried about vaccination because of diabetes, was advised to take Jab by a special team below Dr.
Sandeep Shinde, a medical officer, Nagpur police hospital.
About seven police officers from the Tehsil Police Station were affixed to the place.
Kumar launched ‘Chaitanya Operation’ to ensure maximum coverage for the police and on spot vaccination at their police station or other units by a visiting medical team.
About 98% in city police have taken the first dose while 97% have been borne by the second dose.
City police are now aimed at closing the gap further before the third wave is anticipated.
About 32 personnel have so far died of Covid and 2,460 tested positive in the last two waves.
A special team below Dr.
Shinde has been formed to verify at the police station to ensure that the police who came out of drive vaccination were sent for the earliest affixed with voluntary agreement.
Dr Shinde’s team has seen around 57 police doses both have been delayed and affixed to the place during the intervention.
Positive testing 12 police after returning from Pune earlier this month and also family members from several other policemen asked Kumar to start a special drive to ensure city police personnel protected as far as possible with vaccine cover.
Kumar said the concept behind launching a special drive was to ensure that the police who failed to take a delayed vaccine dose or faced other problems will be facilitated by a special medical team.
“We cannot force and hence this drive to advise, facilitate and manage delayed doses at the police station itself,” he said.
Dr.
Shinde said the two registration and verification clerks had been engaged to verify the status of the vaccine of each police through their Adhaar cellphone number in the Cowin-App application.
“We leave who are not interested, who have allergies and those who are pregnant,” he said.
