Coimbatore: Sulur police have formed a special team to investigate the involvement of traffic police.
The police in the case grabbed the chain on December 25 near private college in L & T bypass when a man dressed in a motorcycle facing them.
He grabbed Dharmaraj’s telephone and asked him to take it from the Santanilur police station.
When Dharmaraj tried to take the phone, the man returned it and won the two-sovereign gold chain.
After Dharmaraj submitted a complaint, the sulur police launched an investigation and found that the police chief attached to the city traffic police was behind the incident.
“We collect evidence and will imprison him,” said a senior police officer.
