Coimbatore: The Perur device of prohibition authorities wing (PEW) detained a man and captured 237 liquor bottles on Wednesday.
The spirits bottles have been circulated to Kerala from Palani at a vehicle.
The arrested was identified as Balaji, 26, of Naithala at Palakkad district.
He had been booked under various sections of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act.During a car check in CTC Colony at Pollachi, authorities stopped a vehicle coming out of Palani.
On assessing, authorities discovered 237 liquor bottles value Rs 28,440 concealed in the vehicle.
Police detained the automobile driver, Balaji, also captured liquor bottles along with the automobile used for smuggling.Balaji is currently employed as an auto driver at Palakkad.
He seen Palani on Tuesday evening at which he purchased liquor bottles in different Tasmac outlets.
Authorities said that he had been intending to sell spirits bottles in an extra speed in Palakkad.
Balaji was published under conditional bail on Wednesday afternoon.
