Corning Incorporated has announced a new category for scratch-resistant and durable glass composite products: Corning Gorilla Glass with DX and Corning Gorilla Glass with DX +.
It has been developed to cover the smartphone camera lens and protect them from scratches, damage and also to reduce the loss of light that enters the lens as a reflection so as to ensure that optimal light enters the lens for shooting.
“The application of mobile technology technology allows captive class image capture through a combination of optical performance, scratch resistance, and durability, Corning claims.
Samsung will be the first customer to adopt Gorilla Glass DX products for camera lens cover,” Corning said in the release.
Corning claims that the latest technology will help capture 98% of the coming light for the camera lens with the help of an anti-reflective layer on the outside of the lens.
The company said that the glass composite would not only protect the camera lens but also improve camera design capabilities and help create high-quality images and videos “antireflective coatings have long been used on conventional cameras to increase light arrests,” Jaymin said.
