Corp identified 700 defaulters because of tax contributions above 1L

Thiruvananthapuram: Revenue wing from City Corporation has identified more than 700 absenteeism that owes tax contributions above RS 1 Lakh.
The cumulative contribution of this defaulter is estimated to reach Rs 44 Crore.
In the past two months, the corporation managed to collect around RS 17 Crore after a tax database update in all wards.
The income wing has issued a first round notice for all absent with contributions above RS 1 Lakh.
A number of Rs 3 Crore has so far been accepted by the corporation of several absence.
Revenue officials said the collection of contributions is expected to increase in the next two months and most contributions will be released in March.
This is possible especially by zonal office efforts to update and issue actual tax contributions.
Previously, people were reluctant to use the online system because it would reflect the fee from the previous fiscal even though it would be paid.
After the data base is updated, only actual fiscal contributions are reflected in the account and many residents choose online payments that also allow them to generate an online receipt and save it in a digital format.
