Coimbatore: City company commissioner P Kumaravel Pandian has allowed traders to market supermarket products through cars or pushcarts at taxpayers’ doorsteps.
Traders started their cellular revenue on Tuesday.
A company official stated,”The state government has issued an order saying the supermarket objects could be marketed via automobiles or pushcarts in doorsteps in 7am to 6pm after receiving consent from bodies.
Grocery stores are also permitted to accept orders through internet or phone and send it in the clients’ homes.
Depending on the arrangement, the company had given consent to the investors to market grocery through vehicles after Covid-19 guidelines” For more than a week because whole lockdown was enforced, fruits and vegetables were sold via pushcarts from the company together with horticulture division in corporation-owned vehicles along with separate private dealers.

“Before, the company had allowed only 53 stores to provide markets in doorsteps following receving orders via calls.
Now, they’ve requested us to reopen the supermarket stores after receiving permission from the company.
Other dealers are now able to buy the things from here and promote it in residential locations or send them,” he explained.
Explaining that 42 wholesale stores have obtained consent from the company and been operating since Monday, ” he stated they have opted to get approval for 50 more stores and operate to a company basis.
