Corpn launches a job to cleanse the Sanganoor channel

Coimbatore: City Corporation has continued cleaning of the Sanganoor canal, which functions as a Stormwater drainage system.
Cleaning works were launched at the end of November detained because of Monson’s bath, said a corporate official.
“We continued their recent work and would finish it in one and a half years,” he said.
The Corporate Board recently agreed to the appointment of project management consultants to oversee work.
The consultant will work with corporations and contractors to ensure that this project is carried out according to plan.
This project aims to clean the canal, strengthen the Bunds and the streets along it is to facilitate traffic congestion.
Cleaning and development work will be carried out for 3.3 km between Mettupalayam Road and Sathyamangalam Road at a cost of 79.3 crores.
While the state government will contribute 49.9 crorses from infrastructure and facilities, the remaining 29.3 crores will be contributed by civilian bodies.
“The work segment will be carried out for 2,300 meters at a cost of 49 crores and 1,000 meters remaining work will be made at a cost of 30.3 crores,” said an official with the corporate engineering department.
The body’s civic needs to eliminate encroachment at the canal roundabout to carry out work.
“More than 500 houses will be removed.
The Tamil Nadu Nadu Habitat Development Agency and City Corporation work in Tandem to provide alternative resident accommodation,” officially added it.
The project is proposed at a cost of 575 crorses to develop canals between Mettupalayam Road and Trichy Road, including 11.5km.
But it doesn’t take off.
