Palghar: Anti-corruption Bureau has arrested a 54-year-old Vanas-Virar Corporation employee in Maharashtra for allegedly taking RS 10,000 as a bribe of real estate agent, ACB said on Wednesday.
Real estate agents have searched for certificates without objections (NOC) from civilian bodies for a plot of land purchased by customers in Kaman in Vasai, ACB said in the release.
The officer, who worked with the Civic City Planning Department and handled Darawi’s file, allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 from the agent for the work, after the latter approached ACB, the release said.
ACB put the trap and arrested the officer when he received the number in his office on Tuesday.
The case was registered against the defendant under the prevention of the Corruption Court, ACB said.
