The citizenship administration has introduced cuts in the city budget because of losing income induced pandemic.
The corporators demanded the cancellation of budget cuts because PMC’s income has increased.
Demand assumes significance ahead of the city selection scheduled for early next year.
“We have asked for civil administration to issue a tender for the earliest city work.
Civil projects proposed by the canporator must be taken in priority,” said Hemant Rasane, the Chairman of the Stand Committee.
About 40% cuts are proposed in the last financial (2020-2021) after the pandemic starts.
Locking has greatly affected Civic’s body income.
But the situation has increased a little now.
The Civic Agency data shows that PMC has earned around RS2,500 Crore in the past four months.
Nearly RS1,300 Crore is available at Kitty PMC.
About 30% of cuts have been proposed and are being implemented.
