Patna: There is no trace of novel Coronavirus found in water samples collected from Ganga in several Bihar districts and Uttar Pradesh where the body suspected of being victims of Covid-19 had washed land a few months ago, according to a multi-agency study anchored by the mission National for clean ganga.
“Our team collected samples from several Bihar districts and rises and sent them to CSIR-IITR Lucknow.
This report will be officially released in a few days.
The main findings are that water is not contaminated by the body allegedly infected with the virus,” the Country Pollution Control Board said Ashok Ghosh.
The RT-PCR test is done to determine the viral load on the water body after extraction of ribonucleic acid from the sample.
The study also examined the biological characteristics of the river.
