Of the 180 countries ranked by the CPI, Pakistan is now in 140 position with a score of 28.
This above this year’s index is Denmark, Finland and New Zealand, all of which are bound by the score 88.
With a score of 40, India ranked 85th.
The rating was a significant leap over the 94th place back in 2012, but the score was only a small increase in 36 it had.
However, compared to neighbors, the tariff is much better.
But stagnation is worrying, the report said, and registered India as a “country to watch”.
“There are concerns over the status of the country’s democracy, as a fundamental freedom and institutional examination and balancing pedicab.
Journalists and activists are very risky and have become victims of attacks by police, political militants, criminal gangs and corrupt local officials,” said the report.
“The civil society organization that speaks of the government has been targeted with security, defamation, incitement, hatred speech and allegations of insult, and by regulations regarding foreign funding.” The corruption perception index depends on sources such as Freedom House and World Bank, and surveys based on questionnaires answered by experts and business people.
“Corruption” includes bribes, public fund transfers, the use of public offices for personal benefits without facing the consequences, control of government corruption in the public sector, red ribbons, nepotistic promises, laws for financial disclosure and public inspection conflicts, protection law for reporter, State capture with personal interests, and access to information about government activities.
Data sources are then standardized to class countries on a zero scale (very corrupt) to 100 (very clean) every year.
