Nagpur: The delay in starting construction of the Budhwar Bazaar shopping complex in expensive has increased the financial burden on the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) which lacks money (NMC) because the project costs have increased by 150%.
Proposal to increase project costs and cancel the previous proposal will be submitted before a common body meeting was held on January 21.
According to sources in the NMC project department, BJP Corporator and Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari have proposed the project during his tenure during ownership.

“Over the years, NMC does not receive a response from private players to develop projects on the BOT model,” said the source.
Civic’s body now plans to develop shopping complexes through design, building, financing, operating and selling (DBFO).

The project department has estimated the cost of RS99.79 Crore Project later.
A private company was also selected in September 2019 which should start work within 120 days after submitting an offer.
But Covid’s pandemic hit the work.
Now, the plan is to restore all project costs by selling commercial stores, halls etc., official source words.
Further sources said that with amendments in building construction permits, FSI for the project also increased by 13,260.50 sq m from 6,187.55 sq.

If the Civic body builds its own building, it will need a RS150 crore and must settle a lot of disputes too.
So, it has changed the plan after getting a good response from the offer of building Metro Mall based on DBFOS.
Regarding the expectations of Rs 40 Crore, NMC accepts the RS55 Crore in the offer.
Civil administration will capture 10 different proposals before the house for the nod.
The house, however, is likely to witness some storm discussions on the investigation report on alleged irregularities by two garbage lifting companies to the door – AG Enviro and BVG India.
