Thiruvananthapuram: Chairman of the Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said counseling sessions must be held for school students and lectures that may be in a certain state of mind after losing not only classes but also friends during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said schools and colleges must have counselors when the institution opened again, according to the official press release.
The decision was taken at the Covid review meeting where he also decided that the first year of undergraduate students under 18 years, which could not be vaccinated because of their age, it would be excluded from the requirement to get a vaccine dose to attend the class, the release said.
Students who do not have time to take the second dose of vaccines will also be allowed to attend the class, the ministerial head at the meeting.

Also, he said the awareness program had to be done for teachers and students who were reluctant to take vaccines, the release said.
In addition, it was also decided at the meeting that the fitness of school buildings and vehicles to be used for ferries must be ensured and the bus service must be increased in connection with the reopening of educational institutions.
Uniforms are not mandatory at the initial stage of school opening, said the minister’s chairman.
According to the release, limiting public events will continue and special permits must be obtained for programs that require exceptions.
With regard to the applicable heavy rain, the main minister said 48 aid camps had been prepared and increased assistance work.
