Countdown to Dasara starts when Jumbos arrives at Mysore

MySuru: Eight Dasara Jumbos Extended traditional welcome at Veerahosahalli, which is located on the outskirts of Nagarahole tiger reserves in the Taluk Hunsur in the MySore district on Monday.

Mla Manjunath distributed new dresses to Mahouts and Kavadis.
About 45 members, including eight Mahouts, eight Kavadis, helpers and special care participants accompany elephants.
Veterinarian Ramesh will monitor elephant health while they live in MySuru.
Then, the elephants were transported in a truck to Mysuru.
Around 2:30 a.m., the elephants reached Bhavan where they will stay until Wednesday (September 15).
On Thursday, the elephant will be welcomed traditionally at Mysuru Palace.
Elephants will be made to get used to the urban environment and will also be given training and practice for the Dasara procession, which is scheduled for October 16.
They will be trained in their Dasara assignments inside the palace where the jamboree is limited.
The palace is because of a pandemic.
DCF (Marglife Mysuru) V Carikalan said, “On September 16, the elephant would shift to the place of Mysuru Palace.
