Coimbatore: Clothing Export Promotion Board (AEPC) urges the state government to form an export promotion board and man-made fiber manufacturing park in all states.
The Chairperson of AEPC A Sakthiel, who met with the head of Chief M K Stalin on Tuesday, filed a memorandum, highlighted the proposal to accelerate exports from the country threefold in a five billion period.
The first advice of AEPC is to create separate export policies for the country.
“To achieve further export growth, we need a separate export policy along with the establishment of a new export promotion board, which consists of government officials and the Representative of the Export Board as a board member,” his representative said.
Sakthivel said the export of Tamil Nadu garment is mostly limited to cotton fibers.
It meets the needs of overseas buyers for only three months, because most use synthetic garments, ethnic clothing and performance clothing, all consist of synthetic / man-made fiber clothing.
