Country to move sc to HC orders

T’puram: Head of Pinarayi Vijayan’s minister told the assembly on Wednesday that the government would appeal against the orders of the High Court which canceled 80: 20quas followed by the state for minority scholarships among Muslim and Christian students.
He said that the HC verdict would be questioned at the APEX court based on legal advice.
“The legal advice we received said that the state government had certain strengths to decide such things, even though the High Court had governed it,” CM said.
However, he clarified that the government’s decision to challenge HC’s command has nothing to do with the government’s guarantee that Muslim community students will continue to enjoy scholarships that are qualified before the HC command.
“There will be no reduction in the amount of financial assistance or the number of beneficiaries even when we follow the HC command that the reservation for the minority community must be based on the size of the population.
No need to worry about that,” he told the house.
The minister’s chairman said there were six different scholarships for students included in the minority community.
Answering the question of delay in releasing funds to the Madrasah teacher welfare council, the ministerial chief said the government would look into this matter and promised the necessary follow-up actions.
Iuml leader PK Kunhalikty said the state government would face another setback at the Supreme Court, if you appeal to a high court verdict on the issue of a minority scholarship.
“Instead of going to the Supreme Court, the government must regulate another scheme for other minority communities and use funds in the current scheme only for Muslim students,” he said.
But, Vijayan said that the appeal was being submitted to ensure that the state was not denied the strength given to him.
“Do we get rap or pat not a problem.
What’s important is we have to explore the option,” he added.
