New Delhi: State and Union region have canceled 4.39 crores, duplicates, and fake ration cards since 2013, the United States government said on Tuesday.
In a written reply to Lok Sabha, the Minister of State for Food and Consumer Affairs Sadhvi Narayan Jyoti said the targeted public distribution system (TPDS) under the 2013 National Food Security Law (NFSA) was operated with a joint responsibility for the central and state / state state UT.

Jyoti also said the state / UTS has been recommended to do the right verification to ensure that the original beneficiary ration card is not deleted or suspended.
