ISLAMABAD/NEW DELHI: The Islamabad high court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of a situation linked to the appointment of a counselor for Indian death row prisoner Khulbhushan Jadhav until October 5.
The appointment of an attorney for Jadhav is still one of the three controversial issues which has prevented India from engaging in the inspection trial, and both being the demand for India to get unhindered consular access to Jadhav and access to all files.
Pakistan has up to now refused India’s need to create an Indian attorney for Jadhav.
India afterwards asked to get a Queen’s Counsel to signify Jadhav but that also was refused.
The attorney general of Pakistan, Khalid Jawed Khan, who also symbolized the authorities through the hearing, also sought postponement of the event prior to a three-judge seat comprising chief justice of this HC Athar Minallah along with Justices Aamer Farooq and Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.
The HC admitted the government’s testimony and adjourned the hearing until October 5.
The court issued notice to the counselor of the Indian high commission to appear before the court on the next date of hearing.
Lately, Pakistan’s national meeting had signed a bill to offer Jadhav the best of appeal from a civilian court from a sentence handed to him with a military court.
