NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Saturday expanded by four times the authorities custody of Olympic medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar, detained in relation to the murder of a 23-year-old wrestler in the Chhatrasal Stadium here.
The court had previously sent the accused of seven months’ police custody for interrogation.
Sushil Kumar was created before the court Saturday in the conclusion of the remand period.
“In the pursuit of justice, I have it proper to enable the use of the authorities for four days simply,” Metropolitan Magistrate Mayank Goel explained.
The authorities had searched Sushil Kumar’s custody for seven days.
Sushil Kumar and his partners allegedly attacked wrestler Sagar Dhankar along with 2 of his buddies Sonu along with Amit Kumar about the night of May 5 and 4.
Sagar reacted to the injuries afterwards.
The worldwide wrestler has been detained, together with co-accused Ajay Kumar, on May 23 from outside Delhi’s Mundka region.
He had been evading arrest and was on the run for almost 3 weeks.
