New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that the center was Cherry chose to choose people as members of the court across the nation, and asked him to make an appointment in two weeks.
A bench led by the chairman of Justice n V Ramana and Judge D Y Chandrachud and L N Rao revealed the uninformed job vacancies in the quasi-justice body throughout the country, and said the condition was “unfortunate”.
The CJI LED bench said he was holding on to start the insulting process of the government.
It also asked the center to give reasons to reject the recommended name.
The Attorney General for Venugopal convinced the bench that the center would make an appointment in two weeks in court from the list of people recommended by the Search and Selection Committee.
He further added that the government has the right to reject the recommended name.
There are around 250 posts lying empty in various main courts and appeal courts.
The upper court heard the petition clutch on the issue of vacancies in the court and the new law that regulates the quasi trial body.
