Guwahati: The Covid case in the northeast shows a trend of an alarming increase with three states – Assam enrolled more than 8,000 infections, Tripura with 1,385 Pradesh with 404 recording their biggest one-day surge.
In other regions, Mizoram enrolled 1,280 Covid cases on Tuesday, the second highest daily Kaseload in a week, Manipur recorded 380 fresh cases, while Meghalaya recorded 275 new cases.
Assam on Tuesday recorded the highest surge in the case of Daily Covid as 8,072 positive cases detected throughout the country.
This exceeded Monday’s record of 6,982 Covid cases, which was the highest number of positive cases reported on the day in Assam since the first Covid case detection in the state in March 2020.
As Assam and Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday also reported the highest surge in one day from Covid-19 case so far this month, because 404 people are more positive for viruses, raising calculations to 57,037, said a senior health department official.
The death toll remained at 282 because there were no new deaths reported in the last 24 hours, he said.
The level of participants in Assam touched new height at 12.62% – almost 2% higher than the previous day.
In Kamrup (Metro) district here, after conducting 9,679 tests, the level of prisoner is as high as 20.62% on Tuesday.
