Pune: With a Covid variant which tends to determine the next pandemic phase, scientists at the National Virology Institute Pune (NIV) say the dose of Covaxin booster can offer solutions to viruses and offer “long-term protection”.
Some countries are exploring a dose of booster against covid with other vaccines.
Similar research was also considered in India, said Director of ICMRNIV Priya Abraham.
Basically, booster shots, which are given after the first two doses of Avaccine, may have to be given regularly (after one or two years, or newer).
Someone who receives a booster does not have to repeat the schedule of two doses.
Covaxin Booster Shot can work on the Coronavirus variant: ICMR-Nivabraham said, “Covaxin can be more effective in handling variants.

Some companies, such as French Valneva pharmaceutical firm, have begun to focus on developing booster shots.
