HYDERABAD: The Centre on Wednesday explained the indigenously developed Covaxin doesn’t include newborn calf serum.
The maker said that although newborn calf serum is employed in the production of viral pathogens, it isn’t utilised in the last formula of Covaxin.
“Newborn calf serum is employed in the production of viral pathogens.
It’s used for the development of cells, although used in the development of this SARS-CoV-2 virus nor even the last formulation.

“Bovine serum is commonly utilised in the production of vaccines worldwide for many decades.

The apology comes in reaction to several social media articles which the authorities stated”twisted and misrepresented” facts about the Covid-19 vaccine manufactured by Bharat Biotech.
The answer came after Congress party’s federal coordination for electronic communications and social websites, Gaurav Pandhi, tweeted an RTI answer from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) to a Vikas Patni concerning the contents of both Covaxin and accused that the Modi administration of betraying the”religion and perception” of individuals.
