Kanpur: The Dosage of Covaxin trials, anti-Coronavirus vaccine, was given to 10 children between two and six years in Prakhar City Hospital on Wednesday in Phase II vaccine trials in children between two and 17 years.
Kanpur is the only city in the state where Covaxin trials in children are ongoing.
Similar trials are also ongoing in six other locations, including AIIMS Delhi and AIims Patna.
The youngest of the 10 children who will be given a dose of trial is a two-half year old daughter.
A total of 15 children are managed by Covaxin in the category of two to six years old.
Five of them were given Covaxin last week.
Overall, 55 children have been given Covaxin as part of the vaccine court.
Of the 55 children, 40 included in the category of six-12 and 12-17 ages.
The trial began in the first two weeks of June.
If everything goes well, Covaxin can be used to vaccinate children against Covid-19 in the coming months.
Being vaccinated children are being observed and the results of clinical trials are divided into the Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR).
Last year, the Covaxin trial was held at the Prakhar Hospital under the supervision of Dr.
JS Kushwaha, the head guide for the Covaxin trial at the hospital.
Speaking with Toi, Dr.
Kushwaha said, “Children who vaccinate and then secure them are never easy.
However, we succeeded in completing the vaccine trials among children in our hospital.
Clinical trials will be shared with ICMR.
All The child who has been vaccinated and observed.
Everything is fine.
“He said that the youngest child who was vaccinated on Wednesday was a two and a half year old girl.
Overall, 55 children were vaccinated in June.
Now, the phase II test of the vaccine, Covaxin, is over.
The second dose of the vaccine will be given to children when the due date arrives.
He also said that some doctors had arrived at Kanpur from Lucknow to get their children the first covaxin trial dose.
While vaccines are given to children, fear will be injected visible on their faces.
Some of them even cried for fear of injection.
However, the expert doctor injects the vaccine gently so the children are seen in a relaxed atmosphere after some time.
