New Delhi: Single Dosage Covaxin gives a similar immunity response to previous Covid people such as those who do not have a history of previous Covid infections with two vaccine doses, the Indian Council said from the latest medical research study.
ICMR in recent research has found that people have been infected with Covid-19 while taking a covaxin dose having the same or increasing antibody response as people who are not affected taking two covaxin doses.
The pilot study was conducted to test the response of SARS-COV-2 specific antibodies after day 0 (baseline before vaccination), the day 28A2 days after the first dosage (month 1) and day 56A2 days after the first dose (month 2) from BBV152 in a professional group Health care and frontline workers.
Individual antibody responses with pre-vaccinated SARS-COV-2 infection are confirmed compared to individuals without evidence of previous infections.
Blood specimens were collected from health professionals and frontline workers who received the BBV152 vaccine in vaccination centers in Chennai, India, during February to 2021.
Blood samples were collected before receiving the first dose of BBV152.
Previous infection with SARS-COV-2 was determined by SARS-COV-2 IgG positive at the beginning.
This study was approved by the ICMR-NIRT Ethics Committee.
The antibody level is measured at three point in time: on vaccination day (baseline), in the first month after the first dose and in the second month after the first dose.
The result is determined through the calibration curve, which is a specialized instrument generated by the calibration of two points and the master curve provided through the QR Reagent code.
Almost all participants with previous Covid-19 infection unless two have antibodies that can be detected during vaccination.
It offers evidence studies that support the health-oriented health strategy and immunological vaccine.
Lokesh Sharma, scientists and media coordinators, ICMR, said, “This is a pilot study.
If the findings are confirmed in a large population study, a single dose of the BBV152 vaccine can be recommended for Covid patients previously confirmed so that the individuals are NaA-VE.
Can reach Greater benefits of limited vaccine supplies.
