Madurai / Trichy: The number of new Covid-19 cases fell to 18 in Madurai on Sunday.
This district has 23 recovery which pushed the number of active cases to 238.
Trichy also saw new cases down to 45 of 47 on Saturday.
The number of active cases also fell to 514 from Saturday 520.
But, the district recorded two deaths took the victim to 1,044 on Sunday.
A total of 106 new cases were restored in ten South Tamil Nadu districts on Sunday.
Tirunelveli (20) Record the highest, followed by Madurai (18), Kanyakumari (14), Tuticorin (12), Sivagaai (11), Dindigul (8), Ramanathapuram (8) and Virudhunagar (9) and Tenkasi (2).
This region has 122 recovery and the number of active cases falls to 1,442.
The amount of recovery is more than the number of new cases in six districts and equivalents in three districts.
With the number of active cases that fall to 99 in Virudhunagar, this district becomes the third in the region has less than 100 active cases.
Two other districts are Theni (26) and Theni (89).
No Covid-19 death recorded in the southern region for the second day in a row.
Nine middle districts including Trichy reported 208 new cases, eight less than Saturday 216.
Thanjavur remained the highest contributor with 68 new cases.
The number of active cases of the area witnessed swimming up to 2,746 on Sundays from 2,831 on Saturday.
The death toll touched 4,350 cases with the death of four more patients.
Tiruvarur and Trichy each registered two deaths.
Of a total of 319,378 patients, the region issued 312,282 patients until Sunday.
