Gurugram: A handful of stores that bravely advertise their ‘green’ windows falling window leaves on Monday after the total sales ban and use of crackers was announced by the Haryana government the night before in District 14 NCR.
Traders and manufacturers of crackers said the week’s order had brought an extraordinary initial initial sales for premature cap.

Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg told TOI that the order was issued in accordance with the various directions of the National Green Court and the Supreme Court.
“Maintaining the security of people because of the pollution that appears in this district, there is a total sales ban or use of all types of firecrackers during the festival season diwali and until the new year,” Garg said.
Asked about the sale of green crackers in the city until Saturday, Garg said the police had been directed to maintain a strict surprise throughout the city to ensure no crackers sold or used.
Kuldeep Singh, regional officers from the state pollution control board Haryana, said the department had deployed six teams of each three members to check the market and ensure no firecrackers sold illegally.
“Our team is constantly in communication with the police station, which will help them take legal action against violators to sell crackers without permission.
Green crackers are also not permitted.
If anyone found selling other types of crackers, legal action will be taken,” said Singh .
HSPCB officials say pollutant levels such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide and suspended particulates in the air increase every year when crackers explode.
Police Commissioner KK Rao said all shos had been directed to continue to close the watch and take action if anyone found selling crackers or breaking direction in crackers.
