Seventy-two percent of the Maharashtra population who qualified but were not vaccinated were from 10 districts, making for 81 lakh adults who still had not taken a shot from the Covid vaccine.
Thane, Nashik and Jalgaon are three top districts like that.
Others sing, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Beed, Solapur, Yavatmal and Buldhana, according to a report by the State Health Department.
Officials say doubts, migration, developing beliefs that pandemics are over, and technical problems are one reason for low coverage.
The government has asked 10 districts to improve their last outreach and labor.
The country has a 9.1 crore target population in the 18-plus age group, where 8.3 Crore has received the first dose, while 81.2 lakh has not taken one shot.
A senior public health official said, “Local authorities have been asked to intensify efforts, from Van Mobile to visit homes, and from full night vaccination drives to talk to community leaders.” The TI collector spoke to say vaccine doubts remain the main problem in certain bags in their area.
Thane collector Rajesh Narvestar said there was a tribal bag where people flatly refused to take certain vaccines and regions where administrators had roamed the head of religion to convince citizens.
Narvestar said he also announced a policy without vaccines, without payment at the government office.
There is also a migration problem.
“Most of the Mumbai workers come from Thane, and many of them have taken Jab in the state capital, which is why the number is high.
This factor must reflect in the system,” said Narvestar.
“We plan to intensify door-to-door vaccination using cellular units.” Jalgaon Abhijit Raut collector also raises migration issues, citing the latest surveys that show that almost 7.5% of the regional population have been vaccinated in other districts.
He said that in addition to taking the help of community and religious heads, the government had intensified weekend and door programs.
The Yavatmal Amol Yedge collector said Talukas from Umarshed, MahaGaon, Pusad and DIGRAS had a temporary migration problem, and so the door-to-door check had begun to find out if people had received their covid shots in other districts.
Bulldhana Collector S Ramamoorthy said the new survey in this region has revealed that only 8% of the target population must still be borne.
He said efforts to bring people to vaccination sites and clean deposits within three weeks.
