Seventy-two percent of the Maharashtra population who qualified but were not vaccinated were from 10 districts, making for 81 lakh adults who still had not taken a shot from the Covid vaccine.
Thane, Nashik and Jalgaon are three top districts like that.
Others sing, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Beed, Solapur, Yavatmal and Buldhana, according to a report by the State Health Department.
Officials say doubts, migration, developing beliefs that pandemics are over, and technical problems are one reason for low coverage.
The government has asked 10 districts to improve their last outreach and labor.
The country has a 9.1 crore target population in the 18-plus age group, where 8.3 Crore has received the first dose, while 81.2 lakh has not taken one shot.
