Kolkata: About 20% of the population in Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been fully vaccinated, but more than 50% have not received the first dose.
Citizenship officials have emerged with these numbers in the survey to determine the status of residents’ vaccination.
In accordance with the available numbers, about 6.7 lakh people live inside the BMC jurisdiction area, which means more than three lakh still have not taken one jab.
BMC officials said according to estimates, BMC has provided almost 1 dose of lakh – which consists of the first and second.
“Rough estimates say 2 other Lakh doses have been given by the Bidhannagar Sub-Division Hospital and a private hospital in combined BMC.
From this, the number of people who are fully vaccinated must be close to Lakh,” said an BMC official.
However, citizenship officials said this was a rough estimate because there were many, including domestic assistance, caregivers, vendors, street vendors and other people who were technically inhabitants of BMC, who were inoculated to work in the city, “said a citizenship official.
Officials said Vaccination camps are detained in Bidhannagar where, on average, around 2,500 to 3,000 will be vaccinated every day.
“We are doing a drive depending on the availability of vaccines,” said an official.
Kota Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) also conducted a survey to ensure How many residents have not been vaccinated.
The authorities have so far been inoculated by around 40,000 people, including residents and others from the nearest villages.
“Most of the community residents who are gated at least receive their first dose, but there may be a large number of uninocounted block residents .
We asked the residential welfare association to send us a list of uninocounted people.
On average, around 200 people are vaccinated from two centers every day, in accordance with the availability of vaccines, “said an NKDA official.
