Covid-19: 27% Dip in the detention zone in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The number of active Covid-19 detention zones in Bengaluru City has dropped by 27% in 15 days.
BBMP Covid-19 data room data shows that there are 159 active detention zones in the city on August 8 which fell to 116 on August 23.
Zone Mahadevapura has the highest number (27) detention zone, followed by Bommanahalli (24).
A senior BBMP official said, “Zone Mahadevapura has the highest number of cases due to the number of apartments in the zone.
In addition, this is the largest zone within the boundary of the BBMP.” Dasarahalli Zone, which is one of the smallest in the city, does not have an active micro detention zone .
Randeep D, Special Commissioner of the BBMP (Health), said, “The number of detention zones has dipped because of lower infections in many regions.
Also, there is no new zone added.
There is a total decrease in the number of cases too.
As a natural consequence, the detention zone Micro also fell.
“The average front week of the week in the city has become 0.53%.
As on Sundays, 52 apartments, 65 houses / individual villas, one school, five hostels / pg / quarters and one missionary institution are active detention zones.
It consists of a total of 3,962 households and has 453 positive cases.
Since August 14, the city has not reported more than 350 cases in one day.
Gaurav Gupta, Chair of the Commissioner, BBMP, said, “Cases have been contained because the hard work of many people included but is not limited to citizens who have participated in the appropriate behavior of Covid, BBMP officials involved in detention, isolation and surveys.
Some rwas, Apartment associations and NGOs have also played a role in reducing the number of active detention zones in the city.
