Ahmedabad: Thirty-six new micro detention zones are notified on Saturday, bringing the total active detention zone in the city to 171.
This is the highest number of detention zones that are notified in a day, after the practice of communities containing micro continued in November.
The Civic’s body also eliminated six people, three of each in the northwestern zone of the northwest and southwest, from detention.
The highest number of new micro detention zones, 11, are situated in East Zone which includes areas such as Maninagar, Nikol, Ramol, Vasatnagar.
Six people in the North West Zone have been put down.
The new zone includes 325 houses with 1,205 residents.
The biggest zone in terms of residents is 20 houses with 98 residents in Blok G Sadguru Sanidhya Society, Ramol.
The second largest is Carnavati Enclave, also in Ramol, where 28 houses with 96 residents have contained.
