Lucknow: More than 50% of the total teenager population above has taken the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, according to data from the Cowin portal.
Officials said that 74.3 teenagers lakh in the 15-17 year old bracket were vaccinated.
The estimated population in this category is 1.4 crores.
The Cowin portal shows that 24.5 doses of crore from the Covid vaccine have been administered above, which is the highest in this country.
This includes vaccines given to teenagers and preventive doses given to health workers and front lines and elderly.
The total population that meets the 18-plus requirements above is 14.7 crores.
Of these, 97% in part and 63.8% was fully vaccinated.
The state government has directed health officials to ensure at least 75% coverage in all districts before the voting day.
Meanwhile, 16,142 new cases of Coronavirus were reported in the last 24 hours.
Lucknow contributed a maximum of 2,290 new cases.
The official bulletin also indicates that the state is left with 95,866 active cases.
43 districts have more than 500 active cases.
These include four districts with more than 5,000 entries in the calculation of active cases.
Additional Chief Secretary of Family Health and Welfare Amit Mohan Prasad said that for the past few days, recovery had produced many new cases and on Friday, 17,600 people were declared recovered from a pandemic infection.
