Pune: The active case of Maharashtra per million populations is now lower than at least eight countries in India, fresh data from the state health department revealed.
The active case of the state per million population on November 9 is 105, lower than Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Mizoram, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur and Meghalaya, data stated.
Secretary of the Additional Chief of Maharashtra (Health) Dr.
Pradeep Vyas said, “Although Maharashtra has the second highest active case in India in terms of absolute counts, the burden of its actual disease is much lower than some other state if the number of Covid-19 cases is calculated per million populations.
“A senior official with the State Health Department told TII that counting the number of Covid-19-per million cases the population was a scientific way to compare the wise expense of the country, because different circumstances had population size.
Maharashtra is the second most populous state in India after Uttar Pradesh.
“The Covid-19 case absolute in various states cannot convey a real picture of the burden of disease in an area.
Therefore the population method per million is used.
For example, if 50 is infected in the population of 100 people in a state, the level of the attack is 50% there.
Also, if 20 of 100 is infected in other circumstances, the level of the attack is 20% there, “the official said.
Data of the Ministry of Health showed that the active case of Maharashtra per million populations also fell lower than the national average of 116.
As on October 26, the active case of Maharashtra per million residents was 181, which was higher than the national average of 135.
Tamil Nadu, Karnataka Telangana then has a lower active case per million populations compared to Maharashtra.
The state of the Covid-19 task unit member Dr.
Shashank Joshi told Tii, “In the past, Maharashtra did have the highest Active Covid-19 case per million residents among other countries, but the situation improved with a consistent decline in the case of covid- 19 New.
