Pune: Connecting all Universal Immunization Programs (UIP) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with Cowin is in work, Central Government officials with the Portal Management Team said on Friday.
“The ministry provides a vaccine to infants, children and pregnant women through UIP.
Active discussion to integrate the entire program with Cowin because it is likely to have almost 80 crore registration in the next few months after covid vaccination for children starts.
This means that not only Covid inoculation but all vaccinations provided under the UIP can be brought on the Cowin platform, “officials told toi.
UIP includes vaccines such as BCG, DPT and OPV other than measles and hepatitis B, among others.
