Ahmedabad: Amid the concern of the third wave of Covid 19 cases, the Ministry of Health Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has increased its daily testing for Covid-19 from 2,500 to 4,500 per day starting from Friday.
A senior AMC official said that the corporation monitors the situation and will further increase testing if needs arise.
“We have increased testing at entry points such as bus stands and train stations.
We are ready to start prepare testing tents in various locations if the need arises.” He said the Civic’s body’s focus was in the quick coverage of the two vaccines.
“In five days including today, we provide as many as 60,000 vaccine doses.
We are worried about 9.3 lakh who qualify people have not taken their second dose and some of them have matured for more than six weeks,” he said.
An official said that on Friday, the Civic body gave a total of 21,787 vaccine doses 18,554 was the second dose.
He said that the Civic body took all possible steps to prevent the third wave of cases.
