Covid-19 case rises, sidewalks to return in Nagpur in 2-3 days: Raut

Nagpur: With the Covid-19 case reaching a two-digit number in the past few days, the limitations will be regretted in Nagpur within two to three days, Guardian Minister Nitin Raut said on Monday after meeting a review with high-ranking officials from the administration.
If implemented, Nagpur will be the first district in Maharashtra to handle restrictions despite having fewer cases than Mumbai and other districts.
Vimala R collector and Commissioner of Radhakrishnan B City attended a meeting where review was also taken about increasing cases of dengue fever.
Making his intention is clear to impose restrictions before the festival season which starts from September 10, the minister said that the shops would be allowed to operate until 4pm while the restaurant time would be limited to two hours to 8pm.
All companies, except medical and essential stores, will still be closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
Stearning the third wave of Covid-19 has entered the district, Raut said that he would hold talks with various stakeholders, including public representatives, NGOs, hotel management, and shop owner associations, before applying limits.
Raut said that of 13 new patients, most of them were fully vaccinated and one of them was a child.
“This shows that there is no guarantee not to contract infections even after vaccination.
About four to five Delta Plus patients were also found before.
We have sent 78 samples to sequencing genomes and waiting for results.
But at this stage, we cannot take risks,” He said.
In preparation for the third wave of Covid-19 projected, Nagpur MLA Utara said that they had made arrangements at the Government and AIIM medical hospitals and in rural areas.
“We will hold a meeting with the State Disaster Management Authority within a few days where the guidelines will be decided on restrictions.
The problem will be discussed in the country cabinet meeting too.
We will strictly follow the ICMR guidelines,” he said.
Although it did not bump whether he spoke with the Chairman of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray before deciding restrictions, the Cabinet Minister said that CM had confirmed that for the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, human life was more valuable than the festival.
The Minister Guardian said because of multiple cases, there was no other way out to prevent his spread.
“Before the second wave, I have tried to impose the same limitation, but many opposed it strongly under one or the pretext and other results there to see.
This time, our administration is fully ready for the third wave, but restrictions are needed to save lives, “He said.
Responding to the query at the oxygen supply, Raut said that unlike the second wave this time this city has enough stock along with the ventilator and bed.
“We also told the doctor to be ready for the third wave.
Unfortunately, citizens take a mild warning and do not follow the protocol like wearing masks and maintaining physical distance.
Therefore, the sidewalk in their movements is a must.”
