New Delhi: This center has raised concerns over the decline at the Covid-19 weekly testing rate and directed 11 states and two union regions to increase tests to avoid missing infections.
“Although there has been a significant decline in new cases with 10,195, the average daily case reported in the week ended November 22, has been observed that there is also a decrease in the weekly testing level,” said Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan in a letter Sent to this state and UTS.
This center has also requested to declare to monitor the prevalence of symptoms of respiratory disorders, diseases such as influenza (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infections (sari) with the emergence of winter and increase pollution in several countries.
The test must be done regularly to identify the actual case of Covid-19, the Ministry of Health said.
Countries and UT with low testing levels including Nagaland, Sikkim, Maharashtra, Kerala, Goa, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Punjab, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
In the absence of sufficient testing levels, it may be difficult to determine the actual level of the spread of infection even because there is a steady decrease in the case of Covid-19 as a whole.
“With the majority of the country see some surges in covid cases lately and some developed countries facing the fourth and fifth waves despite high Covid vaccination levels, there is a need for sustainable and unexpected disease properties,” said the letter.
Highlighting the increase in travel due to marriage, festival, and vacation, Bhushan said it was important to maintain high testing because the decline in testing would make it difficult to know the spread of the actual infection.
The center also requests to oversee the grouping of cases for initial identification and detention.
The center urges the state to do all efforts to preserve the benefits made so far and to prevent a decrease in Covid-19 scenario throughout the country.
