Lucknow: After a gap of several months, the country recorded six deaths because of Covid-19 on Saturday.
As many as 6,411 new cases were also detected in the last 24 hours but low recovery only in 171.
The total number of active cases in the country rose by 18,551 requiring urgent needs to adhere to Covid-19 prevention norms strictly in the interests of individual and social.
According to the official status report of Covid-19, two deaths recorded in Meerut, in addition to each one in Agra, Gorakhpur, Lakhimpur Kheri and Auraiya.
Among all districts, Gautam Budh Nagar saw 1,141 new cases, followed by Lucknow where 876 cases were registered.
In addition, Ghaziabad and Meerut saw more than 600 cases while more than 100 cases were detected in 10 other districts.
In the case of active cases, Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, and Lucknow have more than 2,500 cases now.
ACS, Welfare of Health and Family, Amit Mohan said that everyone, especially the vulnerable group consisting of elderly, children, pregnant women, and those who have co-morbid conditions, must follow the behavior of Covid-19 which is appropriate even though the active variant is lacking deadly rather than delta.
Experts say more than 60% of cases above are caused by Delta variants that can cause life-threatening complications.
