Mangaluru: For many Covid-19 patients, anti-body cocktail therapy seems to accommodate healing promises, and referred to as GameChanger by several stakeholders in the medical community.
“It could be the solution we are looking for,” said Dr.
Deepak Madi, consultants at the Kasturba Medical College in Mangaluru.
Dr.
Madi said that patients tested positive for Coronavirus novels, if treated using anti-body cocktail therapy when still in the early stages of infection, no need to be hospitalized.
“This treatment will help prevent the patient’s condition deteriorate,” he added.
He added that anti-body cocktails can be used in the form of post exposure prophylaxis for adults, where opportunities for high progress infections.
“This will help patients who are not fully vaccinated, adequate immune response.
However, this therapy is not a covid vaccination substitute,” said Dr.
Madi.
Pointing on promising results they have achieved using therapy, Dr Madi added, “This has helped reduce the number of patients who need hospitalization, and reduce the death of almost 70%.
It also encourages the duration of symptoms to only four days in the case of patients, where Light infection.
This therapy has reduced the risk of simtomatic infection almost 81% when used in post-expedit prophylactic treatment among those who share the same home as covid patients.
