Covid-19: Delta, 2 dominant sub-lineage in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: From a total of 298 swab samples collected from Covid-19 patients in Bengaluru and sent to sequencing genomes, three linings of novel Coronavirus – Delta and the sub-lineaks AY.4 and AY.12 – found dominant throughout the age of the group.
The report submitted by Strand Precision Medicine Solutions on September 1 stated that children and vaccinated individuals have the same lineage as the SARS-COV-2 virus as adults and individuals who are not vaccinated.
Researchers who process samples found a total of 133 mutations.
Unprocessed samples including 34 collected from children, 28 of vaccinated individuals, and six of individuals who were fully vaccinated.
They were collected in July and August, when the second wave was tapered.
Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanaagara Pulike (BBMP) has assigned a private research company of the Selu Sequencing Genom Sample assignment in August, and the company processes samples without financial assistance from the government.
Most in the age group 19-45, reports showed that most sampled samples carried a Delta variant (B.1.617.2).
Most of the samples are people from the age group of 19-45 years.
In this age group, 52%, or 97 samples, showed the existence of Delta (B.1.617.2), followed by 63 (34%) which was categorized as AY.4.
Varian AY.12 is seen in 25 samples (13%).
However, the researchers told the state government that low frequency mutations were recorded from the order of Delta, AY.4 and AY.12.
“This mutation trend needs to be studied over time.
If these changes are persistent and increase in frequency, they can define new sub-genres.
Such changes can also change the properties of the virus,” the report said.
It continues by saying, “More vaccine breakthroughs need to be sorted to identify potential mutations related to the escape of the immune.” The source that works with the government about Pandemi management says: “We understand that in the variant AY.4 and AY.
12 Delta variants, the G142D mutation in a surge protein is seen at 1.3% of AY.12 and 26% of the Varian AY.4.
.
mutations reduced, or landscape mutation changed and need to be observed.
“A similar report on the results of 300 other samples were sent for sequencing the genome is expected to be released on Wednesday, while the committee for whole genome sequencing Covid-19 (WGS) will meet on Thursday To discuss findings.
However, an expert said there was no reason to panic as the majority of patients whose swab samples were sent for sequencing genomes did not need hospitalization.
Most of them are treated at home.
“Until now, the severity of infection has not increased with a Delta variant,” expert was revealed.
Prevention of MUSTDR CN Manjunath, Nodal Officer, Covid-19 testing in Karnataka, said the emphasis on the sequencing of the genome would help identify the more early variants.
“Between now and November, we don’t know which variant can arise and who can cause a third wave of infection.
The need for hours is to continue preventive measures,” he said.
