Mangaluru: Covid-19 Daily Case almost doubled in Kannada Dakshina in 24 hours.
While the district reported 106 cases on Thursday, the number of new cases increased to 211 on Friday.
The input rate of district test increases to 2%, after more than three months.
Dakshina Kannada reported death, took the death toll of Covid-19 to 1,704.
Although 33 people run out, the number of active cases in the district increased from 536 to 713.

Ashok H, Nodal Officer for Covid-19 in Dakshina Kannada, said that the Covid-19 cluster was found in three professional college hostels.

The Ministry of Health has collected 756 samples in hostels, where students have a history of travel visiting Kerala.
Meanwhile, another hostel from a medical college in Mangaluru Taluk has also been declared the detention zone, after 14 students were tested positively.
Similarly, one Covid-19 cluster with 10 cases was found in a hostel from a personal medical college in Mangaluru Taluk.
A total of 127 samples from the hostel were tested.
Everyone tested has a history of travel to Kerala, Dr.
Ashok said.
In Udupi, the number of active cases increased from 427 to 558.
Of the 148 new cases reported in the district on Friday, 125 came from Udupi Taluk, which included cases from the campus of educational institutions in Manipal.
While Karkala Taluk reported 14 cases, nine came from Kundapur.
