Bhubaneswar: The Level of Covid-19 Test Position (TPR) is rising stable in Odisha.
It jumped to 0.77% on Monday even because the number of fresh infections remained 424, equal to the amount of Sunday.
On Sunday, TPR was 0.68 and the day before 0.48.
Experts arrest that rapid gains in the case have been triggered by the new Covid-19 variant, Omicron.
They warn against crowding and unmasking because new variants are very contagious.
Although the Ministry of Health tested 54,793 samples, this number was very low as on Sunday, 424 reported positive 61,652 tested samples.
“The Covid-19 case has increased in the last three days so it has TPR.
But the trend is not very clear to call it the third wave.
We must evaluate the trend at least a week,” said Bijay Mohapatra, Director of Health Services.
Khurda Regency, who has begun reporting under 100 cases, has seen it again photographing outside 100.
The country’s capital too, for the past two days, has reported 100-plus cases.
District, which does not report one case for more than a week, adds fresh infection.
However, Kandhamal continues to remain a district with zero active case.
Four districts did not report one case regardless of the 400-plus state infection on Monday.
Ajay Parida, Director of the Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), said: “Country TPR increases but TPR Bhubaneswar is even more worrying.
This shows that there is a wave, which can produce the third wave.
We can reverse this trend by following the Covid norm.” Minister of Health Naba Kishor Das said: “We have all the infrastructure ready.
No need to panic.
We also tried sending samples to the genome sequencing to several laboratories.”
